About
What is HyperXTalk?
"Software development should be accessible, powerful, and belong to the people who use it."
Short description (one sentence)
HyperXTalk is a free, open-source, cross-platform IDE that brings back plain-English scripting for macOS, Windows, and Linux — no strings attached.
Long description (paragraph)
HyperXTalk is a free, open-source integrated development environment inspired by HyperCard and LiveCode. It combines a HyperTalk-derived plain-English scripting language with native API access, targeting macOS, Windows, and Linux. Built in response to LiveCode's restrictive licensing changes, HyperXTalk gives developers a powerful, accessible tool that is and always will be free — licensed under the GPLv3. Six months after its first commit, it already runs on all three major desktop platforms and is growing a community of developers who believe software should belong to the people who build with it.

About the Creator
Emily-Elizabeth Howard
Creator of HyperXTalk
Emily-Elizabeth Howard is a self-taught programmer from Ontario, Canada with over 40 years of experience. When LiveCode changed their pricing model and added a kill switch to distributed software, she forked their open-source engine and built HyperXTalk — a cross-platform IDE that brings back plain-English scripting without the strings attached. Just six months in, HyperXTalk already runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, and is growing a community of developers who share her belief that software development should be accessible, powerful, and belong to the people who use it.
